Planning your ceremony

Whatever the type of ceremony you want,  be it small and simple or simply spectacular, I will work with you to create your dream ceremony.

The steps below describe how we will work together to create your ceremony.

Get in touch

Thank you for your enquiry. I will be in touch soon.

  • Instagram - Grey Circle

Step One - Get In Touch

OK, so you've looked through my website and you like what you see. Fabulous! Let's meet up.

I call this meeting our 'Chemistry check'. You can tell me all about your wedding and any initial plans or thoughts you have, ask lots of questions, and check me out.

I'll run you through the process and the paperwork, and explain how we create your perfect ceremony.

This is a very relaxed, no-obligation chat which takes about 30 minutes or so, at a time and place that works for you and your partner.

You are welcome to go away and consider your next move. I will save your date for you so nobody else jumps in ahead of you!

Step Two - Lock Me In

If you decide I am the right celebrant for you, book in your date and pay your booking fee to confirm your booking.

Once I have received your confirmation and deposit, I will prepare the first of your legal forms - the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM). This document gives official notice of your marriage plans and is signed no more than 18 months or no less than a month before your wedding, I will look after all the required legal paperwork on your behalf and ensure it is submitted correctly. All you need to do is sign the dotted lines!

I will also email you my Ceremony Information and Planning booklet that will provide you with a wealth of planning resources to give you lots of help and advice as you start to map out your ideal ceremony.

Topics in the Ceremony Information and Planning booklet include:

  • Practical information that will assist you in planning your wedding

  • Ceremony 'essentials'

  • Examples of readings vows and rituals you might like

  • Guidelines for writing your own vows

  • Ceremony setup

Step Three - Wedding Workshop

Around two months ahead of your wedding date I’ll be in touch to arrange a detailed planning meeting so I can begin the ceremony writing process.

This meeting takes an hour and allows me to get to know as much about you both as I can. I'll have lots of questions to ask, and I'll guide you through what I need to know. If you have any ceremony ideas, we can talk them through. If you still aren't sure what you want for your ceremony, that's fine too - I'll help you focus on what you need to think about and the decisions you need to make.

Once again, this meeting is a very natural, face-to-face relaxed chat that helps me begin to develop the vision of your ceremony in my head as I better understand your dream.

This is also when we do the official ID checks and all sign your Notice of Intended Marriage.

Step Four - The Magic Happens

I'll use all the information, stories and thoughts from our planning meeting to write you an awesome and unique ceremony. With the exception of your vows, these you should write, but I can help with examples and ideas!

Once written, I send you the script so you can make any tweaks or edits and give final approval. When I get the thumbs up, we'll be good to go.

I do recommend a rehearsal close to the wedding day when we can step through the ceremony and I will share last minute advice and tips to make sure you're fully prepared and briefed in advance to ensure your wedding happens effortlessly around you.

The rehearsal is also a good opportunity for you to sign the final legal declaration of your intention to marry, and you will be good to go.

Step Five - Your Big Day

Finally, on the day of your ceremony when you and your beloved are wed. I will be there at least 30 minutes early and work with your other vendors, your photographer, videographer, wedding planner and DJ to make sure your day goes smoothly.

I'll guide you through the ceremony, and give you both your vows on a card when we get to that part of the ceremony, so no worries about having to remember any words. The same goes for any readings.

Kisses, cuddles, a quick selfie together and we farewell.

You party, honeymoon and love married life!  Everyone has a brilliant time, and when the champagne corks are popping, I slip away to let the party begin!

But that's not the end - I'll be in touch again after honeymoon for a final check-in for any post-wedding follow-ups.
